Une étude conceptuelle
La galerie d’art du Vanuatu et du Pacifique.
TRIBES Gallery est une galerie d’art dédiée aux artistes du Vanuatu et du Pacifique. Une maison qui les expose, qui les vend, et qui les représente au-delà de l’archipel.
Un projet pensé comme une plateforme de valorisation ; pour que la création contemporaine océanienne soit vue, reconnue, collectionnée, et que les artistes vivent de leur art.
Le constat
Le Pacifique est l’un des berceaux artistiques les plus riches et les moins visibles du monde. Sculpture sur bois, peinture contemporaine, tapa, vannerie, photographie, art textile, art kastom : la création y est vivante, ancrée dans des cosmogonies anciennes et résolument moderne dans ses formes.
Et pourtant, les artistes du Pacifique restent largement sous-représentés sur la scène internationale. Faute de galeries qui les portent, faute de relais commerciaux, faute d’institutions qui les exposent au-delà des cercles spécialisés. Une grande partie de cette création reste invisible, ou se vend à des prix qui ne reflètent pas sa valeur.
TRIBES Gallery est conçue pour combler ce manque ; offrir aux artistes une vitrine professionnelle, à hauteur de leur œuvre, et un accès à des collectionneurs qui ne les auraient pas trouvés autrement.
Trois métiers en un
Premier métier
Exposer
Donner aux œuvres le cadre qu’elles méritent. Une collection permanente exposée dans les espaces communs de l’hôtel NASARA, et des expositions temporaires régulières au TRIBES Village. Chaque accrochage est pensé comme une mise en valeur, pas une décoration.
Deuxième métier
Vendre
Permettre aux œuvres de trouver leur public. Les œuvres exposées sont accessibles à l’achat, dans des conditions claires, où l’artiste est rémunéré justement et la galerie reste pérenne. Pas de prix gonflés artificiellement, jamais au détriment des créateurs.
Troisième métier
Représenter
Porter les artistes au-delà du Pacifique. Présence dans des foires d’art régionales et internationales, partenariats avec des galeries d’Australie, Nouvelle-Zélande, Asie et Europe, accompagnement des artistes dans leur développement de carrière. Un agent autant qu’une vitrine.

Collection permanente
NASARA — Gallery Boutique hôtel
Une collection patrimoniale intégrée à l’architecture intérieure de l’hôtel ; lobby, couloirs, suites, espaces communs. Les hôtes vivent au quotidien dans un véritable musée habité, avec des œuvres soigneusement choisies pour dialoguer avec le lieu.
Vitrine et expositions
TRIBES Village
Un espace dédié au cœur du Village, ouvert au public ; expositions temporaires renouvelées au rythme des saisons, rencontres avec les artistes, ventes, accompagnement des collectionneurs. Là où la galerie respire et se renouvelle.
Les disciplines exposées
TRIBES Gallery porte les artistes du Vanuatu et du Pacifique élargi (Mélanésie, Polynésie, Micronésie), dans la diversité de leurs pratiques.
Peinture contemporaine
Toiles, acrylique, techniques mixtes ; la scène pacifique contemporaine.
Sculpture sur bois
Une tradition millénaire, encore vivante, dans les bois nobles du Pacifique.
Photographie
Auteurs photographes du Pacifique, regards sur les lieux, les gens, les rituels.
Tapa et art textile
Le tapa traditionnel et ses réinterprétations contemporaines.
Vannerie d’art
Quand le savoir-faire ancestral devient pièce de collection.
Art kastom
Les expressions artistiques liées aux traditions vivantes ni-vanuataises, exposées avec le consentement des communautés.

A conceptual study
The art gallery of Vanuatu and the Pacific.
TRIBES Gallery is an art gallery dedicated to the artists of Vanuatu and the Pacific. A house that exhibits them, sells them, and represents them beyond the archipelago.
A project designed as a platform of valorisation ; so that contemporary Oceanian creation is seen, recognised, collected, and so that artists live from their art.
The observation
The Pacific is one of the richest and least visible artistic cradles in the world. Wood sculpture, contemporary painting, tapa, basketry, photography, textile art, kastom art : creation here is alive, anchored in ancient cosmogonies and resolutely modern in its forms.
And yet, Pacific artists remain largely underrepresented on the international scene. For lack of galleries that carry them, for lack of commercial relays, for lack of institutions that exhibit them beyond specialist circles. A large part of this creation remains invisible, or is sold at prices that do not reflect its value.
TRIBES Gallery is designed to fill this gap ; to offer artists a professional showcase, worthy of their work, and access to collectors who would not have found them otherwise.
Three crafts in one
First craft
Exhibit
Giving artworks the setting they deserve. A permanent collection displayed throughout the NASARA hotel’s shared spaces, and regular temporary exhibitions at TRIBES Village. Each hanging is designed as a valorisation, not a decoration.
Second craft
Sell
Allowing artworks to find their audience. Exhibited works are available for purchase, under clear conditions, where the artist is fairly paid and the gallery stays sustainable. No artificially inflated prices, never at the expense of creators.
Third craft
Represent
Carrying artists beyond the Pacific. Presence at regional and international art fairs, partnerships with galleries in Australia, New Zealand, Asia and Europe, accompanying artists in their career development. An agent as much as a showcase.

Permanent collection
NASARA — Gallery Boutique hotel
A heritage collection integrated into the hotel’s interior architecture ; lobby, corridors, suites, shared spaces. Guests live daily in a truly inhabited museum, with works carefully chosen to dialogue with the place.
Showcase and exhibitions
TRIBES Village
A dedicated space at the heart of the Village, open to the public ; temporary exhibitions renewed with the seasons, encounters with artists, sales, collector advisory. Where the gallery breathes and renews itself.
