HCB Studio est le clan création du groupe. Il intervient à deux niveaux complémentaires ; l’architecture intérieure et le choix des matériaux pour les projets du groupe et au-delà ; et un atelier de création d’objets et de pièces conçus avec les artisans ni-vanuatais.

Faire beaucoup avec presque rien
Quand la nature fait déjà le plus gros du travail, le rôle de la décoration change. Il ne s’agit plus de remplir, d’impressionner ni de surcharger. Il s’agit de révéler. De choisir le bon matériau, la bonne couleur, la bonne texture, le bon objet, et de savoir s’arrêter là.
C’est ce que les meilleurs architectes d’intérieur contemporains pratiquent depuis longtemps. Une élégance qui ne se voit pas, qui se sent. Une beauté par soustraction plutôt que par addition. Une cohérence qui dure parce qu’elle ne dépend pas d’une mode.
Le Vanuatu offre un cadre rare pour cette manière de faire ; une lumière magnifique, des matériaux nobles à disposition (bois indigènes, pierre volcanique, fibres végétales), et un savoir faire artisanal qui n’a jamais cessé d’exister. Notre rôle est de rassembler tout cela, de le sublimer et de le mettre au service de lieux qui durent.

Premier métier
L’architecture intérieure
Penser l’intérieur des bâtiments avant même qu’ils ne soient construits. En amont des projets, en lien étroit avec les architectes de structure de HCB Development, nous travaillons sur l’ensemble des choix qui façonnent l’expérience d’un lieu ; matériaux de structure visibles, finitions, peintures, agencement, lumière, mobilier intégré.
Ce travail s’étend aussi au-delà des projets HCB. Nous proposons nos services aux propriétaires, hôteliers et particuliers du Vanuatu qui veulent un même niveau de soin pour leurs propres lieux. Une rénovation de maison, un projet d’appartement, l’aménagement d’un bureau ou d’un restaurant.
Second métier
L’atelier de création
Un atelier de décoration intérieure qui crée, conçoit et fabrique des objets, en partenariat avec les artisans ni-vanuatais. Plusieurs familles de création se dessinent ; mobilier et décoration maison, textile et mode, accessoires, bijoux, souvenirs. Toutes pensées pour le climat tropical, ancrées dans les matières du Pacifique, fabriquées localement chaque fois que c’est possible.
Le périmètre se précisera au fil des partenariats noués avec les artisans, designers et fournisseurs qui rejoindront l’aventure.
Pour qu’un lieu soit beau,
il faut que chaque chose qu’il contient
ait été choisie ou faite avec soin.
Deux lieux, deux usages
HCB Studio s’incarnera dans deux lieux complémentaires, pensés pour deux moments différents de la relation au beau.
Sur rendez-vous
Le Studio
Un espace de réflexion, dédié aux propriétaires immobiliers, architectes et maîtres d’ouvrage. On y vient pour toucher les matériaux, regarder les palettes, comparer les finitions, discuter d’un projet. Un lieu calme, propice à la réflexion longue, à l’opposé du commerce rapide. L’endroit où se prennent les décisions qui font un beau lieu.
Ouvert à tous
La Boutique
Un espace de vente qui rassemblera l’ensemble des créations de l’atelier. Une boutique vivante, où l’on entre pour le plaisir, où l’on découvre, où l’on rapporte chez soi un objet qui raconte le Vanuatu.
Il y a, au Vanuatu, un savoir faire artisanal qui attend seulement d’être révélé au monde.
Il y aura, dans cet archipel, un clan de création qui réunit le design contemporain et la main des artisans ni-vanuatais.

HCB Studio is the group’s design and craft clan. It operates on two complementary levels ; interior architecture and material selection for the group’s projects and beyond ; and a creative workshop producing objects and pieces designed with Ni-Vanuatu artisans.

Doing more with less
When nature already does most of the work, the role of decoration changes. It is no longer about filling, impressing or overloading. It is about revealing. Choosing the right material, the right colour, the right texture, the right object, and knowing when to stop.
This is what the best contemporary interior architects have been practising for a long time. An elegance that doesn’t show, but feels. A beauty by subtraction rather than addition. A coherence that lasts because it doesn’t depend on a trend.
Vanuatu offers a rare setting for this approach ; a magnificent light, noble materials at hand (indigenous wood, volcanic stone, plant fibres), and a craft tradition that has never stopped existing. Our role is to bring all of this together, to elevate it, and to put it at the service of places that last.

First craft
Interior architecture
Thinking a building’s interior before it is even built. Upstream of projects, working closely with HCB Development’s structural architects, we shape every choice that defines the experience of a place ; visible structural materials, finishes, paints, layout, light, built in furniture.
This work extends beyond HCB projects. We offer our services to the owners, hoteliers and individuals in Vanuatu who want the same level of care for their own places. A house renovation, an apartment project, the design of an office or a restaurant.
Second craft
The creative workshop
An interior decoration workshop creating, designing and producing objects, in partnership with Ni-Vanuatu artisans. Several creative families are emerging ; furniture and home decoration, textiles and fashion, accessories, jewellery, souvenirs. All designed for the tropical climate, anchored in Pacific materials, produced locally whenever possible.
The scope will be refined through the partnerships built with the artisans, designers and suppliers who join the venture.
For a place to be beautiful,
everything in it must have been

Two venues, two uses
HCB Studio will be embodied in two complementary venues, designed for two different moments in the relationship to beauty.
By appointment
The Studio
A space for reflection, dedicated to property owners, architects and project leaders. A place to touch the materials, look at the palettes, compare finishes, discuss a project. A quiet space, suited to long reflection, far from quick commerce. The place where the decisions that make a beautiful place are taken.
Open to all
The Boutique
A retail space gathering all the workshop’s creations. A lively boutique, where you walk in for the pleasure of it, where you discover, where you bring home an object that tells the story of Vanuatu.
There is, in Vanuatu, an artisanal know how that only waits to be revealed to the world.
There will be, in this archipelago, a creative clan that brings together contemporary design and the hand of Ni-Vanuatu artisans.
